A message from the libraries:

From the Chrisman HS/JH/Elementary School  Libraries:  This is an exciting time for our school libraries! Quite a while ago, four of the state library systems merged into one: Illinois Heartland Library System. This means we will be able to get materials from libraries from about Rockford south to Cairo and E. St. Louis to the Indiana border.  In order to make this change, the new library system is merging the four databases for the previous library systems into a new automation system: Polaris.

Chrisman students can look-up and request books on their own by using the link listed below and following these steps:

The link is http://search.illinoisheartland.org

*Click on link to your school as needed on the top right corner if "not your library" pops up.

*Enter title of book

*Options for the title will pop up. Select one by choosing "request it."

*If the book is unavailable at our library, then you will have the option of choosing from another library.

*Select a location to request from by clicking on the book image under the location selected.

***Students will need their library barcode or create a username and password. Create this by going under my account at the top of the page. Barcode can be obtained at the school library.

*Login and request the materials.

*Materials will be delivered to the school and handed out, but please allow at least a one week minimum for delivery.

*Please email Jody Kirby, District Librarian, if you have any problems or questions at kirbyj@chrisman.k12.il.us
