Indiana State’s Summer Honors Program: Discover Blue-Earn Green (July 16-22, 2017)

During this one-week experience you many receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend Indiana State University, earn 1 hour of college credit, stay in a residence hall and discover Indiana State’s beautiful campus. As a participant you may choose from several college-level programs including aviation, elementary education, entrepreneurship, nursing, robotics, theater, and more. EIU English Studies Summer Camp

The English Department at Eastern Illinois University is excited to again offer its English Studies Summer Camp for High School Students this July!  This one-week camp will allow students to select two courses from a range of offerings in creative writing, literature, media studies, and more.  With extremely affordable rates for both commuters and residential participants – and multiple full and partial scholarships to award – this would be a terrific opportunity for any student looking for a unique summer learning experience and academic get-away. World Affairs Seminar (June 24-30, 2017)

This unique and exciting opportunity is a program of Rotary International District 6270. Now in its 40th year, WAS is truly an international experience right in our back yard. We attract high school students from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The 2017 theme, “Educaiton & Social Justice: creating change around the world” is particularly relevant to the world the student delegates will inherit. National High School Institute

The Cherubs program dates back to 1931 and is made up of three summer institutes: Theatre Arts, Film & Video, and Debate. These programs combine intensive training, along with an once-in-a-lifetime summer experience making lifelong friends and contacts, while exploring the Northwestern campus and Chicago. The Theatre Arts program is open exclusively to current high school juniors; our Film & Video program is open to current sophomores and juniors; and our Debate programs are open to current freshman, sophomores, and juniors.

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (grades 10-12)

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is for students who have exceptional talent and interest in the areas of mathematics and science. They provide a three-year residential program designed to promote mathematics and science learning within a comprehensive problem-centered and integrative program. A Red Cross Lifeguard program is being offered, starting on February 25, 2017, at Fountain Central High School.

A Red Cross Lifeguard class is now open for registration.  Lifeguarding is a tremendous summer and often year round job.  Guards find work in local community, school, YMCA, state parks, and college pools.  You must be 15 by April 1st, and strong swimmer, able to pass a swimming test.  Adults (teachers, coaches) are welcome.  Download a flier at Crew272.org or call, text or message Brian Walker at 765-295-1548 (between 7pm and 9pm) for more information. This is the 10th year the program has run!  A couple hundred kids have gone through the program, many have guarded all the way through college, and many teachers/coaches have also got and kept their certifications!  There is also a recert program, and teachers that need CPR certs are welcome to contact me and arrange to attend for just those skills.

The Danville Chapter of Ambucs (due May 15, 2017)

These scholarships for students who are going into the field of Physical, Occupation Therapy and Speech Pathology or Hearing Audiology. These scholarships can be for up to 4 years. The Danville Ambucs scholarships are grants of $750 a year. The Danville Ambucs also have scholarship for students who are going into Special Education of $500 a year. Emotional Support Animal Co. Scholarship! (due November 1, 2017)

Emotional Support Animal Co. focuses on helping individuals’ turn their beloved pet, into an emotional support animal. It is important for us to help you feel comfortable and to us that means having an emotional support animal by your side. We are happy to announce that we are going to be awarding a $500 Scholarship to young adults suffering from any form of mental illness. The Scholarship will go towards any type of educational expenses incurred. Applicants must be attending school, whether it be a Junior College, Trade College, or University. If you are qualified, and interested in applying, simply write an essay on the topic “How an emotional support animal has helped you or someone you know”.
